Sensei Michael Nahan

Chief Instructor - 4th Degree Black Belt

Holding over 20 years experience in the martial arts, Sensei Michael Nahan is the owner and head instructor of Kempo Academy of Darien. Currently, he is also the COO of Kempo Academy of Martial Arts LLC, the administrator of belt test ceremonies for our other karate dojos, and teaches martial arts to the karate instructors across the Kempo Academy of Martial Arts organization. Recently, Sensei Nahan created True MAS Fitness, the FightGains martial arts youtube channel, and the Iron Wire News blog, where he shares ideas and concepts of self improvement and childhood education.

Sensei Trish Jackson

Instructor - 2nd Degree Black Belt

Teaching in Darien for the past 4 years, Sensei Trish Jackson holds 12 years experience in the martial arts. Currently, she is a certified Kickboxing Instructor and a graduate of a two-year course for the teaching of martial arts from our Instructor's College. Recently, Sensei Jackson has earned her place as a core member of our Off-Site Events Team, developing our presence in the community, and teaches many of our after school enrichment programs, introducing karate to new students throughout Darien and the surrounding towns.

Sensei Heath LaBombard

Instructor - Brown 1st Degree

Training directly under Master Scott Craigue and Sensei Nahan, Sensei Heath LaBombard has spent the last two years dedicated to learning and teaching the martial arts. Prior to joining the Kempo Academy team, he majored in media production, as well as motion picture, and television sciences. Currently, he is the VP of our Off-Site Events Team, and the coproducer and editor of our video library content. Recently, Sensei LaBombard created some of our most popular activities, including Pokemon Night and Minecraft Night, and is studying to become a certified strength and conditioning professional through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).
